Air Conditional

There could be hundreds of reasons why air conditional problems appear and  isn’t working properly. But there are a few problems that are common. the most common central air conditioner problems will shown in this blog to let you know what you are dealing with your air conditioners. Simply when you feel one of these problem coming to you just pick up your phone and contact us .

  Air Conditioner Smells Really Bad

Smells from your central air can be really confusing for the simple reason that sometimes they’re not actually coming from the AC itself. Instead, odors somewhere in your home are being circulated via the HVAC ductwork. A couple of examples are the “rotten egg” scent of a natural gas leak or an odor of cigarettes due to someone smoking indoors.

An air conditioner malfunction indeed causes other aromas, for instance, burning, coolant, or exhaust.

SOLUTION:   some solutions can be done by us, just like this one . A cigarette odor  easily resolved by simply smoking outside. Most other air conditioner smells, though, signal an urgent problem. Shut off the system and get emergency HVAC repair.

 Dirty Air Filter

Dirty filters can cause a lot of problems, including decreased airflow, lower indoor air quality and higher power consumption. They can also make your air conditioner work harder and stop working if the coil freezes.

You can easily avoid AC problems with air filters. Make sure you change flat filters once a month and pleated filters every three months.

Air Conditioner Is The Wrong Size

Sorry to say, but your air conditioner could be the wrong size for your home. Why is this an issue? An undersized AC will never get your house quite cool enough, while an overly large system will lower the room temperature too fast, cycling so quickly that it dehumidify properly.

What’s behind this problem? Air conditioner salespeople who don’t know how — or don’t take the time — to calculate exactly what size your home needs.

Tripped Circuit Breaker

There can be a couple of reasons why your air conditioner keeps tripping its circuit breaker. Here are some of the most common ones:

  • Dirty air filter is severely limiting airflow.
  • Your air conditioner is overheating due to a lack of refrigerant.
  • Condenser coils are dirty and restricting airflow.
  • Condenser fan motor has broken and coils are overheating.
  • Electrical connections are worn or loose.
  • Blower motor is malfunctioning.
  • Compressor is drawing too much power or wiring is faulty.
  • Capacitor responsible for starting the compressor has gone out.

Like we mentioned earlier, check your air filter first, as that is most commonly the culprit. Any other problems will need to be addressed by an HVAC professional like Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.

 Water Leak

Your AC unit uses a condensate drain line to flush water it removes from the air. If you’ve skipped air conditioning maintenance, this drain can become clogged with mold and cause water to back up. If this happens, you’ll notice water leaking.

Turn off your air conditioner to avoid damage and call us.
